Members of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) have declared an indefinite strike with effect from Friday April 1, 2016.

President of JUSAG, Mr. Alex Nartey announced this at a press conference in Accra on Thursday.

Speaking in an interview with Oman News Mr. Alex Nartey, said they will never resume work until all their grievances including their working conditions were addressed by government.

“We will lay down our tools from tomorrow until government address all our grievances we have put before them,” he stated.

According to Mr. Nartey, JUSAG has given government ample time to meet with the leadership to discuss the way forward regarding their grievances, but said government has failed to do so.

He said the leadership of JUSAG wrote to government in February warning that if by March 31st 2015, noting was done about their grievances they will embark on industrial action.

Mr. Nartey said government never made any attempt to meet with them over the issue saying “we think government is taking us for granted so we have also decided to lay down our tools.”

“We are not going to resume until our grievances are addressed,” he stated.
