The 2016 policy advisor to the campaign team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Boakye Agyarko has lambasted President Mahama and his appointees for their continuous display of incompetence, carelessness and lack of discretion which he said was tarnishing the image of the country.

The former vice president of the Bank of New York is incensed over the fact that every step taken by President Mahama administration in one way or the other has brought avoidable disgrace to the country both locally and internationally.

He was commenting on the Ghana’s 59th Independent Anniversary brochure which was riddled with grammatical and factual errors.President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, who was the guest of honour at the independence for instance, was misinterpreted as the president of the Republic of Ghana.

This development has been largely condemned by many Ghanaians with some calling for the removal of the Information Minister and head of the Information Services Department to serve as a deterrent.

Speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme Boiling Point, Mr. Boakye Agyarko said, it is regrettable that a nation which has attained 59 years of independence could commit such a blunder.“What has happened to us at 59 years clearly shows that our future is bleak,” he suggested.

Mr. Agyarko recalled how the country was mocked early last year during an ECOWAS programme in Ghana when President Mahama had to pause for some minutes because some of the pages in his speech could not be found.

Such things, according to him, may be considered as little slippages, but warned that they could lead to serious repercussions in the end.

“As a nation our collective mind and the leadership mind is beginning to slip,” he said.

He explained that the country is gradually slipping into a ditch as a result of the actions and inactions of NDC administration led by John Dramani Mahama.

“If someone is to suffer from dementia or ulcer mines diseases, it doesn’t come suddenly. Little little things begin to slip from you, and then it becomes a big problem,” he noted.Mr. Agyarko found it curious and strange that the Information Minister Dr. Omane Boamah who is known for his quick responses to criticisms, particularly from the opposition, would remain silent for so long over the issue.
