Mahama’s state of the nation address speech cost $200,000

The 2016 Policy Advisor for the campaign team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Boakye Agyarko has revealed the state of the nation address which was delivered by president Mahama on Thursday, February 25, 2016 was written by a US based consultant for a fee of $200,000.

Mr. Agyarko finds it incredible that Mahama administration could go to the extent of paying such colossal amount of money for the drafting of what he described as a hopeless State of the Nation Address.

Speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis program “Boiling Point”, Mr. Agyarko who accused government for misusing state resources said government airlifted about fifteen officials including Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada, Dr. Sulley Gariba to join the consultant in US for a single speech.

“When he finished the speech I asked myself whether this speech worth $ 200, 000,” he stated.

Mr. Agyarko said he was so much disappointed in the president for paying that much saying this speech could have been written by a level 100 student in Ghana without a fee.

He also lambasted president Mahama for displaying comedy when he assembled about fifteen individuals in parliament during his address in an attempt to prove to his critics that his administration had improved the lots of Ghanaians.
