The Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region Kennedy Agyapong has said President John Dramani Mahama has vowed to do everything possible to maintain power during this year's elections. President Mahama's motive of maintaining power, according to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, is that he fears when he loses the 2016 general elections and the New Patriotic Party (NNP) wins the party will grind him to a pulp “Mahama has told his security capos which I got to know that he will do everything possible even if he has to spend every dime to retain power because if NPP wins the elections they will grind him to a pulp,” he said.

Kennedy Agyapong who revealed this on Oman FM’s political Analysis Programme Boiling Point accused president Mahama of being desperate to cling unto power.

The outspoken New Patriotic Party MP said president Mahama is troubled that his shady deals and the corruption in his administration will be exposed when his administration exits power since those culpable will be made to face the full rigors of the law.

To this end, he said, the governing National Democratic Congress has been holding secret meetings and strategizing on how to rig the elections in order to keep Mahama and the party in power.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, President Mahama is so desperate to the extent that he is controlling the Chairperson of the Electoral commission, Mrs. Charlotte Osei who is required by law to be neutral.

He charged Ghanaians to be vigilant by monitoring all the processes leading to the voting on November 7 in order to resist any attempt by the corrupt and wicked Mahama administration from rigging the elections.
