NPP parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North escapes attack

The Cape Coast North parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Barbara Asher Ayisi escaped a deadly attack by a knife-wielding man at her home Saturday.

According to Oman FM’s Central Regional Correspondent Joojo Blankson, scaled the wall of the candidate house and entered it.

He said the attacker who had on him knives and an iron rod upon entering the house smashed the windscreen of her car.

Joojo reported that he then started shouting “I will kill her” “I will kill her today.

This according to Joojo caught the attention of her neighbors, who raised an alarm and quickly mobilized themselves and arrested him.

“They beat him mercilessly,” he said.

He is currently receiving treatment at the Ankaful hospital after he was beaten by the neighbors upon arrest before handing him over to the Police. The incident comes on the back of the killing of the Abuakwa North Member of Parliament. Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu was murdered at his residence on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his residence in Accra. One person has been arrested in connection with the crime.
