Togolese with Ghanaian ID card

The numerous allegations that various foreign nationals have their names on the Ghanaian voters register was given credence by a Togolese national, who confirmed that indeed there are aliens in the voters register, with the exhibition of both his Togolese and Ghanaian voter Identity cards.

Many pressure groups and political parties have hitherto raised red flags for a new voters register because of what they claimed to be an adulteration of the Ghanaian register.

Speaking to Oman News, Amose Dzimanyah, confirmed that he has Ghana’s voters Identification Card and that of Togolese Voters ID card which he could use at any time, depending on where he finds himself.

The calls to the Electoral Commission for a new voters ID card, started with a pressure group, Let my vote count Alliance, and some other political parties in Ghana, such as the NPP, CPP, PNC and others whose advocacy for the cleaning of the existing register proved futile .

The Director of Communications of the NPP, Mr. Akomea had claimed that there are several aliens from Togo and other neighboring countries in the Ghanaian register. It is for this reason that as a leading opposition party, there is the call for a new voters register; however the commission continues to remain adamant to the call for a new voters register.
