Stop witch hunting our MP - Agogo Youth Association tells DCOP Kofi Boakye

The Agogo Youth Association has charged the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye to stop witch hunting the MP for Asante Akim North, Kwabena Baah Agyeman and rather make sure a court judgment detailing the way forward in resolving the conflict between the Fulani herdsmen and Agogo citizens is implemented.

“If the Police have anything better to do, they should obey and sanction the court judgment rather than intimidating the citizens of Agogo who are fighting for their lands and their right of life, right to live and own property”, a statement issued by the Agogo youth Association said.

The Agogo Youth Association will like to state emphatically that the press conference was organized by Agogoman mma kuo in collaboration with Agogo Youth Association.

We therefore find it disheartening and appalling for the Ashanti Regional Police Command to single out Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman, the MP for Asante Akim North Constituency and Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah as targets for arrest.

The Agogo Youth Association will also like to state on record that Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman and Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah are members of the Agogo Youth Association and that what they said on the occasion reflects the concerns of the entire Youth of Agogo.

The press statement was written by the Agogo Youth Association and read by the association and it wasn't from the minds of the two gentlemen. Therefore, the Ashanti Regional Police Command must arrest all the 20000 members of the Agogo Youth Association if they found something wrong with the press statement.

If the Police have anything better to do, they should obey and sanction the court judgment rather than intimidating the citizens of Agogo who are fighting for their lands and their right of life, right to live and own property.

DCOP Kofi Boakye, you came to Agogo on 8th and 15th March, 2015 and promised to evacuate this fulani herdsmen and their cattle from our lands, thus, implementing the court judgment which has been hanging for years.

Yet, this fulani herdsmen are killing innocent citizens. The MP and the Youth are drawing the attention of the government and your office about the atrocious deeds of these aliens.

This same DCOP is surprised with the MP and the Youth, therefore, he and his boys must come down to the affected areas and witness how these Fulanis are toiling with the lives of Agogo people. Somebody tell Kofi Boakye, his jurisdiction is not limited to Kumasi alone, Agogo is part of Ashanti Region.

We therefore urge DCOP Kofi Boakye to sanction the court judgment and stop the Media war with Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman.
