Angry customers of the embattled DKM micro finance in the Bono Ahafo are accusing the police in the region for securing a court order to stop them from going on the streets to protest. Spokersons for the angry DKM customers, Maxwell Mahama, who expressed the frustration of the group said, they are shocked about the conduct of the police in the region. He wondered why the police would turn around and go to court for an order after giving them clearance to embark on their planned demonstration Monday 18, 2016. Maxwell Mahama said the group wrote to the police last Monday to notify them about their intention to demonstrate against the Bank of Ghana for freezing the account of DKM. He continued “the police sat with us and agreed on the route we should take.” Maxwell Mahama indicated that the group had finished preparations for the protest only to be served with court order that they cannot go on demonstration. “How come the police sat with us and agreed on the route to take last Monday and then later go to court for an order to prevent us from embarking on the demonstration? he quizzed. “Somebody is behind the action of the police and it is deliberate,” Maxwell Mahama intimated. +He charged that, “The police think they are above the law. They don’t speak the truth and they are being manipulated by somebody to do what they are doing.” Maxwell Mahama said they have forwarded a copy of summons to their lawyers to study and respond accordingly. “We were asked to enter appearance on Wednesday January 2o, 2015 so we will go and challenge the order.
