Wife of the 2016 vice presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic (NPP), Hajia Samira Bawumia, has charged women in the country to vote massively for the NPP to come to power and save them from suffering.
According to her, the governing National Democratic Congress led by President Mahama has demonstrated that they do not care about Ghanaians.
She said the seven years of NDC in administration has been nothing but economic hardship.
Mrs. Bawumia stated that Ghana now needs a leader who will rule with compassion and care for the ordinary Ghanaian.
She was addressing market women at the Tema community 1 in the Tema East constituency on the sidelines of the commissioning of an rehabilitated “kosoe dwaso”, a popular market in Tema
"Before I came here I was taken through the market and interacted with some of the market women and all that they were saying was that NPP should come and save them."
"Don't disappoint us" Mrs. Bawumia quoted the market women as saying. She said the NPP's victory in this year's election will largely depend on the women in the country because they are the ones who are suffering under President Mahama.
She said the economy has been mismanaged so much so that many Ghanaian women get worried over what their children will eat monies to pay for children’s school fees as well as the future of their children.
She said the current situation can be saved if Ghanaian women will give the flagbearer of the NPP Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo and his running mate Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia the nod in November 7 this year.
She charged the market women to campaign for the NPP to win this year’s general elections.
“We need you, so when you go, tell your family members to vote for NPP,” Mrs. Bawumia told the crowd.
