Renowned Ghanaian gospel artiste Bernard Amankwah has chastised politicians for creating unnecessary tension anytime there was going to be General Elections in the country.

He argued that out of the 25 million population of Ghana, only a fraction are politicians yet “these few politicians put our lives in danger as if the country belongs to them.”

Bernard Amankwah believes it is about time politicians desist from the use of intemperate languages during all political programmes as we are approaching the November 7 for the general elections.

He charged politicians to use words that bring comfort, words that unite, and words that will lead Ghana into prosperity rather than words that can incite people into violence.

Bernard Amankwah made the call when he donated musical instruments and assorted food items valued at 15,000 Ghana cedis to the Osu Children’s Home.

He recalled how political campaigning was exciting to attend in the past due to the intellectual approach to issues and expressed shocked over how it has been replaced with insults and vituperations.

“Growing up going campaign gathering was a delight because when you go and listen to Dan Selby’s, Victor Gbeho’s and Harry Sawyerrs then you know Ghana has a future. But its so sad today that when you listen to people on campaign platforms the things they say is nothing to write home about.

Mr. Amankwah urged polititicians to stop putting the lives of millions of Ghanaians at risk by their actions.

“May be you and your children can fly out when something happens, but these ones doesn’t have homes so think about these ones.”

He was optimistic that the items particularly the instruments will go a long way to build the spiritual life of the inmates.

On her part, the Managress of Osu Children Home Mrs. Christiana Addo commended Bernard Amankwah for the gesture and promised to put the items to good use.

She added her voice to calls for politicians to desist from the use of intemperate language in order to safeguard the stability of the country.
