The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo has assured Ghanaians that NPP will not do anything which will destabilize the country in any elections.
According to him, if there will be violence in any elections in Ghana, it will not be instigated by his party.
“If there will be violence it will not come from the NPP,” Nana Addo stated.
Nana Addo gave the assurance when he lead a delegation of NPP members to pay a courtesy call on the chief of Asankragwa in the Western Region ahead of Tuesday by- election in Amenfi West constituency.
“You all saw what happened during the last elections (referring to 2008 and 2012). NPP should have been declared winner but it didn’t happen that way. It was very painful but we didn’t do anything to destabilize this country,” he posited.
He maintained that if NPP did not destabilize the country when the party lost the two painful elections then it is not now that they will do it.
Nana Addo stressed that Ghanaians shouldn’t fear for the upcoming by-election and the 2016 general elections because NPP stands for peace.
