The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked the Military High Command to respond to allegations of complicity linking some of its men to the violent attack at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Monday.

Reports indicate that some six persons dressed in military uniform, were led by others in plain clothes to carry out the act.

Addressing the media on Monday, the Director of Communications for the party, Nana Akomea said the command must respond to the allegations to bring clarity to the matter.

He said from the Odorkor Police extract, it was very clearly a set up, where a group from Odorko were given party T-shirts and machetes to go to the Party office.

Some of them said they cannot be part of the plot so when they left, they lodged a complaint at the Odorkor Police station.

Nana Akomea said there is an official report made by these people about them being organised and lured to the party office to engage in this activity. He said NPP will be extremely glad if the Military Command itself will come out to clarify the issue

Meanwhile the spokesperson of the Armed Forces, Lt. Col Aggrey Quarshie said none of his men was involved in the invasion at the NPP head office.

He said the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) did not take part in the recent raid at the headquarters of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP)

“The Armed Forces has not officially sanctioned anybody to do anything at the NPP headquarters and we are waiting for the police to come out with its findings then we can take it from there,” Lt. Col. Quarshie said

.According to the Communications Director of NPP, Nana Akomea, a group of 15 armed men in military uniform entered its Asylum Down headquarters during the wee hours of Monday and ransacked some offices within.
