Remi Garde had his press conference on Thursday ahead of his second game in charge of Aston Villa away at Everton.

The manager who drew 0-0 with league leaders Manchester City on his debut managerial game at Villa part had to do without seven key players in training ahead of the Everton fixture due to the international break.

Remi Garde, who is trying to rebuild his Aston Villa players’ confidence in a bid to take them off the bottom of the Premier League was pleased with how his team trained.

The France international also delighted in the good work of players who were away on international duty, notably Ghana’s Jordan Ayew who scored the second of two goals in their FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Comoros at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Aston Villa manager told reporters ahead of the game against Everton:

“I've tried to bring confidence and focus on the point we earned against City. We've had good training sessions without seven players who started the game against City. “It wasn't the best to work on. The players who have stayed have worked really well.

“Jordan Amavi has done very well since he arrived at this club. Jordan Ayew scored and Ciaran Clark had a great result for the Republic of Ireland. Jores is fighting hard to get fit. He is working hard to get back into the first team.”

Jordan Ayew and his team are bottom of the English Premier League table with 5 points from 12 games going into an Everton game their manager Remi Garde claims is ‘aware of how hard this game is going to be’ and that he ‘knows them well’.
